For 19 and a half years, the Cinema Club has brought sneak previews and engaging discussions to the Bay area. The very first screening was of XIU XIU: THE SENT DOWN GIRL in September 1998 at the Embarcadero Theatre. Over the years, we’ve moved around from there to the Kabuki, the Clay, back to the Embarcadero, and finally back to the Kabuki in 2008, then newly renovated and under new management by Robert Redford’s Sundance Cinemas. Today, we meet for two seasons out of the year (winter/spring and fall) at the Kabuki for stimulating films and discussions -- all moderated by Peter L. Stein. Join today to become part of San Francisco’s rich film history!
