Rose-Lynn Harlan is bursting with raw talent, charisma and cheek. Fresh out of jail and with two young kids, all she wants is to get out of Glasgow and make it as a country singer. Her mum Marion has had a bellyful of Rose-Lynn’s Nashville nonsense. Forced to take responsibility, Rose-Lynn gets a cleaning job, only to find an unlikely champion in the middle-class lady of the house. A comedy-drama about mothers and daughters, dreams and reality and three chords and the truth.

Loved it. A lesser movie would have stopped when Rose’s mother gives her money, but this one took a look at the reality of Nashville. This actress-singer is phenomenal--carries and embodies the story.

I would watch Julie Walters in anything but Jessie Buckley was a revelation. Although I found the storyline to have way too many tropes, I had to admire her ability to “sell it.”

Wow! Extraordinary talent, good story, good acting as well as singing.

I thought I had lost the ability to cry! Incredible film, acting as well as story. I love the way it developed, slowly, with unexpected turns. Incredible film.

A stunning success -- one of the best country music films ever, including "Crazy Heart." Brilliant directing by Tom Harper, great casting by Kathleen Crawford, Jessie Buckley rivals Janis Joplin and Lady Gaga in power and range,

Favorite line: "I have no idea what you just said." I'll see it again with closed captions. Great story, great music, words hard to understand.

Needed subtitles. Jessie Buckley has a beautiful voice, the music was enjoyable -- for country music.
