Although there's something about this film that keeps me from rating it 100% excellent, I do think it's very good and quite moving. A different perspective on this iconic woman and that iconic event, and I was fascinated and touched by being shown this background story. I very much liked the score and close-ups, which brought me deep into the grief.

Powerful, evocative. Natalie Portman channels the two faces and many layers of Jackie Kennedy -- the regal queen of the mythic Camelot and the vulnerable, insecure woman who wishes she had married an ordinary, ugly man. Sensitive direction by Pablo Larraine, strong screenplay by Noah Oppenheim. Superb production values by Jean Rabasse; succeeds on all counts.

I hated yet loved the reliving of this tragedy.

This is the second time I have seen this film (first time at the St. Louis Film Festival) and I liked it even better this time. The music -- especially the strings evoking the tragic beyond sadness -- was superb. Natalie Portman, excellent.

Greatly appreciated the story format of seeing the "present" with the previous events. The juxtaposition of the actual footage added realism. I never wanted to see close-ups of Jackie or Jack. The words of the priests, Jackie, and the LIFE journalist gave many opportunities for personal reflection.

The film brought to mind the reality of our humanity--we are all frail, self-doubting and vain, but we find ways to present our best selves to the world and to ourselves, so we can make it from day to day and hopefully, feel good most of the time and do some good.
