Fabulous. Wonderful. Original. Great story telling using acting and music. One of the best films I've seen. This is a two-fer--great movie, great concert. Excellent, loved it. Great cast, the nuances of their relationships were well performed. Great! Virtuosic. A wonderful evocative film. Testament to the abiding power of music to transcend so many issues. Another major classic!

I see the notes on the page but I don't hear the music. Too dramatic [?]. Hard to believe. Characters were unsympathetic.

In my opinion, this is a superb debut feature. The idea of drawing the analogy between a string quartet and human relationships in general is creative in the extreme. I love the way the way the quartet in the film is comprised of the three real-life quartets.
