Jocelyn Szczepaniak-Gillece

Milwaukee Co-Moderator Jocelyn Szczepaniak-Gillece is an Assistant Professor of English and Film Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She holds a BA in English and Film, Television, and Theatre from the University of Notre Dame and an MA and a PhD in Screen Cultures from Northwestern University. She has published and taught widely on the history of American film exhibition and technology, spectatorship, contemporary global cinema, special effects, and the history of animation. Her book on architect Benjamin Schlanger and the modernization of the American theater from the 1920s-1960s is under contract with Oxford University Press.
