Washington, DC Moderator David Sterritt is editor-in-chief of the of the Quarterly Review of Film and Video, film professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art, professor emeritus at Long Island University, contributing writer at Cineaste, and a member of the editorial boards of the Hitchcock Annual and other publications. He chaired the National Society of Film Critics from 2005 to 2015, served twice as chair of the New York Film Critics Circle, and was film critic of  The Christian Science Monitor from the 1960s until his early retirement in 2005. He has also been film critic of Tikkun, video critic of Islands, and guest editor and chief book critic of Film Quarterly. His commentaries are heard weekly on David Sterritt with Films in Focus, broadcast on WHDD and podcast on RobinHoodRadio.com. David has a PhD in Cinema Studies from New York University and has written, edited, and coedited many books, of which the latest are Rock ’n’ Roll Movies (Rutgers University Press), Simply Hitchcock (a Simply Charly ebook), and The Cinema of Clint Eastwood: Chronicles of America (Wallflower Books). He has been a member of the New York Film Festival selection committee, film critic of NPR’s All Things Considered, and a theater critic for Variety, and has served on film-festival juries in Moscow, Vienna, Toronto, Palm Springs, and beyond. He lives in Baltimore with Mikita Brottman and their French bulldog, Oliver.
